What a joy it is to Plant a Tree,
And from the sallow earth to watch it Rise,
Lifting its emerald branches to the Skies
In silent Adoration; and to see
Its Strength increasing with each Spring.
Yes, Its a Gladsome thing
To Plant a Tree.

Arbor Day Funny Q&A
Did you hear the one about Arbor Day?
It'll leaf you laughing!
What kind of tree is often found in the kitchen?
A pantry!
Why did you plant a board and nails on Arbor Day?
I was trying to grow a tree house!
What is your favorite type of tree?
A pastry!
What do you call a whole day planting trees ?
Ar bore Day!
It'll leaf you laughing!

Tree Poem for Arbor Day
"I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are written by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree."
~Joyce Kilmer, "Trees"

Arbor Day Quotes
"For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver."
"Trees are the earth's endless effort to speak to the listening heaven."
"The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit."
"Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world."
"If I thought I was going to die tomorrow, I should nevertheless plant a tree today."
"Happiness is a bowl of cherries and a book of poetry under a shade tree."
"Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realize we cannot eat money."

Arbor Day Poem "Plant a Tree"
What does he plant who plants a tree?
He plants cool shade and tender rain,
And seed and bud of days to be,
And years that fade and flush again;
He plants the glory of the plain;
He plants the forest's heritage;
The harvest of a coming age;
They joy that unborn eyes shall see
These things he plants who plants a tree.
He plants cool shade and tender rain,
And seed and bud of days to be,
And years that fade and flush again;
He plants the glory of the plain;
He plants the forest's heritage;
The harvest of a coming age;
They joy that unborn eyes shall see
These things he plants who plants a tree.
